Wake County Speedway was the site of the first win for Brandon Ward and his KPMOTO.COM, Foothill Ford, Miller Welders race team. The win came in a dominate fashion as Ward led every lap in the caution free event. "The car was unbelievable tonight" stated Ward. "We slipped a little in qualifying but I knew we had a great car in race trim" continued Ward. The Winston-Salem NC native time trialed in the 9th position but was bettered to the pole by the redraw. "Drawing the pole was definitely good luck, but I still believe the car was good enough to win from mid pack" added Ward. "Jeff (Day) and the guys did a excellent job preparing this car, the new engine combination was a plus" continued Ward. "We had to make some tough decisions regarding our engine combination in the last couple of races" said Owner and Crew Chief Jeff Day. "I think we made the right choice this weekend with the sealed combination from Progressive Race Engines" stated Day.
The win comes on the heels of a strong second place finish at Orange County Speedway, and a Whelen Southern Modified Tour win by Brandon Ward this spring. The team hopes the momemtum will continue in the following weeks as a PASS South Championship is there stated goal.
